Responsible for leading, managing and guiding the corporate tax function of KAVX. This includes minimizing the impact of local and federal tax on the Company’s financial results through planning, risk management, documentation, and research.

TAX STRATEGY & PLANNING

  •          Manage the KAVX Americas Tax team, including providing leadership, developing talent, and giving direction to the group. This includes hiring, professional development, mentorship, etc.
  •          Monitor tax law changes in the U.S. and foreign jurisdictions to identify potential planning opportunities or issues for both direct and indirect taxes.
  •          Research, develop, and implement appropriate tax planning initiatives/strategies and recommendations, often in partnership with external tax advisors, reducing corporate tax exposure and optimizing the Company’s tax position.
  •          Provide analysis of the tax impact of proposed transactions (including organizational actions contemplated by Management) and develop tax-efficient solutions
  •          Identify and implement process improvements to enhance tax process efficiency and effectiveness, including tax automation and data analysis initiatives.

TAX COMPLIANCE AND TAX ACCOUNTING

  •          Lead and manage U.S. tax compliance, with respect to required tax calculations for a global company, such as Subpart F, GILTI, BEAT, FDII, interest disallowance under 163(j), and foreign tax credits.
  •          Manage calculations and documentation of earnings and profits pools, tax pools, PTEP, and U.S. tax basis for foreign subsidiaries and/or branches, and prepare/review required elections and disclosures such as check-the-box elections, DCLs, etc.
  •          Coordinate and review foreign tax compliance prepared by external tax advisors.
  •          Manage global transfer pricing, including ensuring ongoing alignment with global operations and tax law developments.
  •          Lead and manage quarterly and year-end consolidation and accounting for income tax processes.
  •          Partner with Treasury to determine the tax impact of cross-border financial cash flows and coordinate extraordinary intercompany settlement and repatriation efforts.

TAX CONTROVERSY, as needed

  •          Lead, manage and provide support, as necessary and often in coordination with external advisors, for US and international tax audits.

MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS, as needed

  •          Participate in target diligence, identify potential tax exposures, and evaluate target tax attributes
  •          Assist in evaluating transaction parameters to propose tax-efficient deal structures and funding mechanisms, often in coordination with external advisors
  •          Assist with the review and adjustment of legal entity structure to ensure continued operational and tax efficiency on an ongoing basis
  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related degree is required. Master’s in taxation, MBA, or CPA is highly preferred.
  •      10 years’ experience in corporate tax. Big 4 accounting experience is preferred. Experience in a management position is preferred. Experience working in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
  •          Strong technical knowledge of complex tax issues.
  •          General knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and fundamental understanding of internal controls.
  •          Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels within the organization, plus external auditors and advisors.
