Commercial Property Accountant
Full-Time | Onsite | Monday-FridaySalary: $80,000A well-established organization is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Property Accountant to support the financial operations of a diverse commercial real estate portfolio. This individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reporting packages, supporting budgeting activities, and partnering with operational teams to ensure strong financial performance.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to contribute to the success of a growing real estate organization.- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for assigned properties.
- Maintain general ledger activity, complete account reconciliations, and support monthly close processes.
- Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Monitor lease activity, tenant billings, recoveries, and other property-related accounting transactions.
- Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Prepare recurring financial reports for management and ownership.
- Support audits, tax reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Partner with internal teams to resolve accounting questions and improve reporting accuracy.
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within commercial real estate or property management.
- Experience with property accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or similar ERP systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and financial reporting.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and commercial property accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
