SUMMARY: A Bookkeeper is responsible for recording and maintaining a company's financial transactions accurately and efficiently. They help ensure that financial records are up to date and support the organization's accounting and reporting processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Record financial transactions in accounting systems.
- Maintain general ledgers and financial records.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
- Prepare invoices and monitor payments.
- Assist with payroll processing.
- Generate financial reports and summaries.
- Maintain accurate filing and documentation of financial records.
- Support accountants during audits and tax preparation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet applications.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication skills.
- Associate degree, diploma, or relevant bookkeeping certification preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Frequently required to sit.
- Frequently required to stand
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Continually utilize visual acuity to read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
- Continually required to talk or hear.
- Occasionally/Frequently/Continually required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 pounds.
- Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals.
- Occasionally work around loud noise
