Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Part-Time Accounts Payable Clerk to support our accounting team at our Redford, Michigan office. This position will assist with daily accounts payable activities, including processing vendor invoices, verifying purchase orders, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with weekly payment processing.

The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity for someone with accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience who is looking for a consistent part-time schedule.

This is an in-office position requiring 25–30 hours per week at our Redford, MI location. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, enter, and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

• Verify invoices against purchase orders, receiving records, and supporting documentation.

• Identify and resolve invoice discrepancies by working with vendors and internal departments.

• Assist with preparing and processing weekly ACH and check payments.

• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices, payment status, and account balances.

• Maintain organized and accurate accounts payable records and supporting documentation.

• Assist with vendor statement reconciliations and outstanding invoice follow-ups.

• Monitor invoices to help ensure payments are processed according to established terms.

• Support the accounting team with month-end activities as needed.

• Assist with additional accounting and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Good organizational and time-management skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.

• Experience working with accounting software or ERP systems preferred.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.

• Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional accounting education or training is a plus.
