Job Description:
- The Global Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing payroll operations for approximately 1,500 US employees as well as international payrolls across EMEA, APAC, Australia, and Canada. The role will have significant responsibility for Workday Payroll, international payroll provider management, payroll integrations, compliance, audits, equity processing, reconciliations, and payroll-related employee support. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working in high-growth, distributed, public, or multinational organizations and will partner closely with People Operations, Stock Administration, Accounting, and external payroll providers to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Manage US semi-monthly payroll processing for approximately 1,500 employees using Workday Payroll.
- Manage and oversee international payroll operations across EMEA, APAC, Australia, and Canada.
- Oversee approximately 16 monthly international payrolls in partnership with Activpayroll.
- Review inbound and outbound Workday payroll integrations and provide accurate variable payroll inputs.
- Review, validate, reconcile, and approve payroll results received from Activpayroll.
- Serve as the primary contact for EMEA/APAC payroll matters and resolve employee payroll inquiries efficiently.
- Manage payroll operations in a high-growth and geographically distributed workforce.
- Conduct audits and quality reviews of US payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage equity-related payroll processing across multiple countries.
- Manage third-party US payroll/tax vendors and ensure tax compliance and accurate funds reconciliation.
- Maintain and manage the global payroll calendar and ensure all payroll and compliance deadlines are met.
- Coordinate compliance-related deliverables, including 401(k), Workers' Compensation, tax, and other payroll audits.
- Partner with People Operations, Stock Administration, Accounting, and other business functions to support payroll requirements.
- Lead and support payroll-related special projects, including Workday enhancements, system integrations, process improvements, and international expansion.
- Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and improve payroll processes.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and payroll information.
- Provide responsive and professional customer service to employees regarding pay, deductions, payroll processes, and other payroll-related matters.
Experience:
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in payroll operations, preferably within high-growth, public, multinational, or technology organizations.
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale US payroll populations, preferably 1,000+ employees.
- Strong hands-on experience with Workday Payroll.
- Experience managing multi-country/international payroll across EMEA, APAC, Australia, and/or Canada.
- Experience working with global payroll providers such as Activpayroll or similar providers.
- Experience managing payroll vendors, audits, reconciliations, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with payroll integrations, system enhancements, and cross-functional payroll projects.
- Experience supporting equity/stock-related payroll processing is preferred.
- Experience working independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Equivalent relevant payroll experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- Professional payroll certification such as FPC or CPP is preferred but not required.\
