Accountant / Auditor

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Accountant / Auditors with strong expertise in financial reporting, GAAP and IFRS, audit procedures, Excel-based financial modelling, tax compliance, and financial quality assurance to contribute to an advanced AI training and finance-evaluation project.

Selected professionals will review financial statements, validate financial models, assess audit procedures and internal controls, analyse tax-compliance materials, and contribute realistic finance scenarios used to train and evaluate advanced AI systems. The work requires strong technical accounting judgement, rigorous attention to detail, and the ability to explain complex financial findings clearly. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting Review

• Review financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
• Evaluate reporting against applicable GAAP or IFRS standards
• Identify accounting errors, classification issues, and unsupported assumptions
• Assess whether financial information appropriately reflects underlying transactions
• Apply professional judgement across complex reporting scenarios

Audit Procedures & Internal Controls

• Review and document audit procedures
• Evaluate internal control frameworks and related documentation
• Identify control weaknesses, audit gaps, and areas requiring further testing
• Assess whether audit evidence appropriately supports conclusions
• Apply rigorous quality standards across audit-related materials

Excel & Financial Modelling

• Develop and validate financial models using advanced Excel functionality
• Review formulas, assumptions, calculations, and model structure
• Identify inconsistencies or errors affecting financial conclusions
• Apply financial modelling best practices for clarity, accuracy, and usability
• Support analytical workflows involving forecasts, scenarios, and financial data

Tax Compliance & Regulatory Review

• Analyse tax-compliance documentation
• Evaluate alignment with applicable tax and reporting requirements
• Identify missing, inconsistent, or potentially non-compliant information
• Apply practical accounting judgement to tax-related scenarios
• Document findings and recommended corrections clearly

Financial Analysis & Reporting

• Prepare structured reports summarising findings and recommendations
• Translate complex financial issues into clear written explanations
• Identify material risks, discrepancies, and areas for improvement
• Provide concise and constructive feedback on financial documentation
• Maintain strong standards for analytical precision and professional communication

AI Training & Scenario Development

• Contribute realistic finance, accounting, audit, and tax scenarios
• Review AI-generated financial analyses for accuracy and completeness
• Provide structured feedback on accounting logic and financial reasoning
• Help improve evaluation standards for finance-related AI outputs
• Support the development of high-quality reference materials and case studies

Ideal Profile

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in financial reporting, auditing, tax compliance, or a closely related finance role
• Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS
• Experience with international financial-reporting requirements is highly valuable
• Expert proficiency with Excel
• Strong financial-modelling and analytical skills
• Proven experience conducting audits and preparing audit documentation
• Familiarity with internal controls and financial-quality assurance processes
• Strong understanding of tax-compliance requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and accurately
• Strong attention to detail and analytical judgement
• Experience contributing to finance-process improvements or technology-enabled projects is advantageous
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly valued
• No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

Engagement Details

• Independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Compensation: $60–$75/hour
• Work will involve financial reporting, audit procedures, Excel-based financial modelling, tax compliance, internal controls, and AI-output evaluation
• Strong accounting and audit judgement are central to this engagement
• Assignments may include financial statements, audit documentation, tax materials, financial models, and business case studies
• Project scope, workload, financial scenarios, and evaluation standards may evolve depending on project requirements
• Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
