Purpose The Inventory Accounting Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of inventory accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This role will collaborate with various departments to optimize inventory processes and provide insights to enhance financial performance. Responsible for all accounting, control, financial reporting, and analytics for assigned functional accounting area. Leads, trains, and develops their team to ensure they meet the accounting guidelines, continuously improve their processes, and communicate effectively to all levels of the organization, both within Accounting and with other functions they support. Additionally, they will lead their team through initiatives and projects generated within Accounting and by the functions they support. Responsibilities Manages the period close process for their function including Journal Entry approval, accruals, analysis, and reporting Responsible for the internal controls, processes, and procedures in their area of responsibility which includes ensuring they are followed by their team, revising as needed, interacting with internal / external auditors, and continuously improving Analyzes, reports, and explains estimates and results, in a clear, timely and accurate fashion to Controller and Functional Leaders Collaborates with Procurement, Supply Chain, Accounts Payable and operations teams to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency Identifies areas for improvement in inventory management and propose solutions Leads, coordinates and reports on special projects and initiatives Responsible for staffing, coaching, developing and performance management for their team About You Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field or an equivalent amount of experience MBA and/or CPA preferred 3-5 or more years in accounting or finance environment with at least 3 years supervising a team Previous inventory management experience, including but not limited to shrink, revaluations, physical inventory / cycle counts, margin Demonstrated skills in supervising a team, including training and development Excellent business writing and effective communication to all levels of management Excellent PC and related spreadsheet application skills including ERP skills such as Oracle Demonstrated analytical skills using high volume and disparate data sources Able to work effectively in a high growth environment and a rapidly changing organization Physical Requirements Ability to travel up to ~10% of the time, which may include weekends and evenings, as needed Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
